COVID-19 updates

Welcome back September 2021

We hope this welcoming children back September 2021 will be a marker that things can return to more normality.

We have a new normal and are no longer part of Track and Trace.  We have returned to our normal start and finish times and a slightly more relaxed approach.  We are still being cautious as a school and asking families to support with that.  The pupils still have their own entrances, toilet areas and are working primarily as year groups.  Handwashing and adequate ventilation are the key features of our Risk Assessment and are still being adheared to by staff.  We are still asking parents to remain a distance from staff but there is no longer the requirement to wear masks on the playground.  Some meetings will be face to face but we are still promoting the use of other means in the first instance.

Public Health are regularly reviewing and updating the procedures and guidance on the management of suspected cases, management of confirmed cases and arrangements for management of a possible outbreak.  This may change our practice at very short notice.  Please inform us straight away if any member of your family household or a pupil at Webheath is displaying any COVID-19 symptoms.  Please do get a PCR test if requested by the school or you or your child has any of the symptoms.

Hand cleaning

Clean hands thoroughly more often than usual

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is an easy virus to kill when it is on skin. This can be done with soap and running water or hand sanitiser. Schools must ensure that pupils clean their hands regularly, including when they arrive at school, when they return from breaks, when they change rooms and before and after eating. Regular and thorough hand cleaning is going to be needed for the foreseeable future.  Please help us with ensuring children know how to clean their hands thoroughly, using soap for 20 seconds.  We will have hand sanitising stations around school and are using a product called ktouch:  https://ktouch.co.uk/
