Webheath Local Governance Committee
As part of a Multi Academy Trust, Webheath Academy Primary School Local Governance Committee (LGC) carries out the responsibilities delegated to it by the Shires Multi Academy Trust Board through its Scheme of Delegation.
Our governors are volunteers who are committed to supporting and challenging the school to ensure that every child receives the best possible education.
The Local Governance Committee has an important strategic role. Working with the Headteacher and the Trust, governors provide local oversight, assurance and scrutiny, with a particular focus on:
- the educational performance of the school and its pupils;
- the school’s vision, ethos and strategic priorities;
- safeguarding, wellbeing and the experience of pupils;
- the effective use of resources and oversight of financial performance; and
- scrutiny of progress against school improvement priorities, providing appropriate challenge and support.
Governors meet regularly throughout the academic year and also undertake visits to the school as part of their oversight and assurance role.
